- AFC (Asia): 8.5 spots
- CONMEBOL (South America): 6.5 spots
- CONCACAF (North America): 6.5 spots + 3 auto-qualified hosts
- OFC (Oceania): 1.5 spots
Automatically Qualified
As host nations, the United States, Canada, and Mexico are automatically qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Group Stage Format
The 48 teams will be divided into 12 groups of 4 teams each. The top 2 teams from each group (24 teams) plus the 8 best third-placed teams will advance to the knockout round of 32.
